Elder Sister of Teelo Norri

The Sister is an offshoot of the Teelo Norri cult for those who wish to support the cult without taking the vow of poverty. Although they follow the practice of donating at least a day a season to menial labor their efforts are concentrated on raising funds, providing organizational skills and arranging training and work placements for those the cult helps.

It is a hero cult based on Teelo Norri's elder sister who spent much of the First Wane raising funds and helping set up orphanages and poorhouses across the cities of the Empire. This was often opposed by Dara Happen traditionalists who claimed that the poor should remain poor because that was their place as decreed by Yelm in his infinite wisdom. After several cities obstructed efforts to setup poorhouses by political maneuvering she realized that it was necessary to get politically involved and that the best way for her to obtain support was through the wives of the well connected. Even Dara Happen wives have some ways of influencing their husbands.

In Torang Lady Sparrow became a member of the hero cult early in the second wane and the events she organized became an essential part of the Torang Court Social Calendar both with the nobility eager to show their support for the Lunar way and for those who wished to cultivate connections with the nobility. They are much more casual and inclusive than more traditional events where deliberately obscure and complex rituals are used to demonstrate Rinliddi superiority over everyone else. This stemmed from the various occupations when a powerless nobility sought to justify their existence by being more artistic and sophisticated than the uptight Dara Happens or barbaric Carmanians and Pentans.

The Elder Sisters have taken the Teelo Norri skills of "Scrounge" and "Shame Donation out of Rich Citizen" and turned them into an art form with such techniques as "Charge Outrageous Price for Posh Event" and "It's for the Orphans".

Entry requirements:

The cult is technically open to anyone but in practice recruits mainly from those who can tithe substantial amounts.
