Steermen
Kalamango the Steerman is so named not because he's a master of steers, but because he is a steer himself. A eunuch. The practice is not uncommon among the lowland Bisosae northeast of Lake Oronin, and although it was proscribed by certain Carmanian shahs (and less well-held among the highland Bisosae who provided the Bull Shahs), is starting to see a renaissance. It is for this reason that one less enlightened commentator said western Pelanda was full of naught but "steers and queers".
Steermen are most commonly found as labourers or prostitutes, rivalling the Pelandan JedaErsi (I'll let those with the Entekosiad work that one out) for prominence. They are ceremonially castrated after puberty, so retain a sexual drive; and rituals to Bisos and Turos retain their facility in a certain regard.
Commonly known as Longhorns or Studhorns, steermen can fetch a heavy price for their services (Carmanian steermen tend to be heterosexual, Pelandans unconcerned), and are typically rated on the weight of their buttocks (don't ask me how this is measured). A Worionite studhorn (10 lb rump) in finest condition can demand one or two imperials, which is up to twenty times the price of a visit to the regimental knocking wagon.
Of course, Barbarian Uroxi are known as Styrmen, which always leads to misunderstandings.
