Big Jan

A dark, richly-bearded Holayan hunter and boatman, Big Jan tirelessly leads the expedition's fractious porters with strength and calm. Other tribesmen hate him and his mother, the ambitious Zaladoring chief, for deferring to Lunars. Direct and forceful, he can sway counsels despite terrible Dara Happan. Sidekick to Keros Xarandoros

Shani

Shani is Lady Sparrow's maidservant and confidant. She is a lower class Dara Happen who was rescued from the streets by a Teelo Norri orphanage and recruited from there by Lady Sparrow. Brought up to know her place, a generous mistress is more than she really expected from life which makes her intensely loyal.

Avimya

Kasdeck's nagging wife. She never lets up on him. Most recently, she wishes to know why she has been dragged into the heart of danger.

Evidor

Kasdeck's two year old son. Mostly he talks. To everyone, about everything. And drools. Lots of drool.

Dravdul

Dravdul is Kasdeck's long time scribe. Normally he doesn't mind the job to much, but he is not looking forward to this whole Deathline business. Dravdul does his best to soften Kasdecks wording in the letters he writes.

Large vrok that Kasdeck rides.
