What is the Light of Action?

A couple of things, really...  The first answer is: "It's this webpage, silly!". The second answer is more formal. "The Light of Action is an ancient document regarding warfare and the enemies of the Solar Empire."
 

Where is this Solar Empire?

The Solar Empire exists in the world of Glorantha, a gaming world based on the works of Greg Stafford. So far, incarnations of the World of Glorantha have included the White Bear Red Moon, Dragon Pass and Nomad God wargames; the King of Dragon Pass computer game, and Runequest, HeroWars and HeroQuest Role-playing games.
 

So what is this page about, then?

Glorantha has always been a home ground for Wargames. This page explores wargaming in Glorantha, and specifically wargaming with miniature figures.

 

And who are you?

Me? I'm Roderick Robertson, Gloranthan fan since the first publication of Runequest back in 1982, and wargamer since I was about 7 years old, when my father bought me my first figures - 54mm plastic Romans and Gladiators. Many were the hours that they assaulted castles made of books, dealing deathly wounds - at least until their weapons broke off through excess force. From those early figures I migrated through the Airfix HO/OO scale plastics, Gi Joe, back to Airfix, and then to 25mm lead miniatures from Heritage and Minifigs. Since then (over 20 years ago), I have amassed a lot of lead, some painted, some not yet. (like any true miniatures player, my hobby room can probably protect me from nuclear fallout...)
